But what if you succeed?

It’s pretty scary to put yourself out there.

To take a risk.

Try something new.

With no guarantee that you will succeed.

You could fail, you could make a fool of yourself.

Anything could happen – and our minds usually turn to the worst.

As many of you know, I am in the midst of my first book launch.

This is all new territory for me and like any new endeavour its scary stuff.

It gets my heart racing and my palms sweating just thinking about it.

What will people think? Will they buy the book?

If they do, will they even like it?

Who knows? Not me?

As I said … scary.

So why do I do it?

Why does anyone do it?

It’s the only way to live without regrets.

And it is exciting, it’s terrifying, it makes you feel alive.

Now, there is no denying, it is comfy in the comfort zone.

And sometimes it is the very best place to be.

Think of a cold winters day, inside snuggled up by the fire wearing your comfy slippers, sipping on a hot chocolate… Nice, right?

But if you stay there too long it can get a little dull, staid, boring, frustrating.

Same, same.

We are never challenged in our comfort zones (which is why it is comfortable!)

Which means we can never change and grow.

Stasis will get you nowhere.

And deep down you always know when it is time to step out of the zone.

It is that feeling of unrest and disquiet.

That little nagging voice questioning whether there might be more for you.

If there is one thing, one goal that you have been afraid to go for, what would it be?

What’s holding you back?

Don’t let it be the fear.

I know it is scary.

And, it is true you might fail.

Imagine that.
